Baby Sparrows

brings many benefits to both us and the environment.  One of the great benefits is having a habitat for birds in our yard that is both safe and it encourages birds to nest.  There are no harmful chemicals available and I think the birds really know this.  This family of Sparrows chose to nest in our birdhouse right next to the garden.  There are many little creatures available to feed their young.  In this photo the are just a few days old.  We will be watching them as they grow - how exciting for a !

SUBJECT: Interview Opp: Multidimensional health? Expert offers eastern solutions to western practices.
Hi Dotty,
According to a new study recently released by ABC News, routine meditation may reverse the effects of stress genes on our bodies. Moreover, the study scientifically validates long-held eastern beliefs that the mind can enormously impact the body’s overall health:

According to Dr. Herbert Benson of Harvard Medical School, the research is “breaking down the very old rule” that “the mind didn’t affect the body”. Are eastern health practices something that you or your readers might be interested in?
If so, I have an author you could interview.
Nitin Chhoda is the author of “Total Activation” The New 5 Step Fitness Mantra,” (April 2008), a book that explores both meditation and other alternative health practices. It is from the east and his native India that the author derives his holistic approach: born and raised in Mumbai, India, he moved to the United States several years ago, and promptly set up Total Activation LLC, a fitness center that helps Americans get healthier by incorporating Indian traditions into their lives. As a certified trainer, Chhoda is concerned with five areas of health - emotion, physical, social, spiritual, intellectual – and helps Americans improve their wellness both inside and out. Would you like to have him on the program to discuss stress, meditation, and Indian health practices?
In an interview Chhoda can discuss:
-Why meditation is important to both physical and mental health
-How to meditate: What’s your meditation style?
-The hidden signs of stress, and how to relax
-Why ancient forms of Indian healthcare, such as . Yoga and Ayurveda, may be right for you
-His own success story: How an Indian immigrant gained - and lost - weight after moving to the U.S.

Given the current struggle to maintain a healthy lifestyle in the face of rising food costs and other spending squeezes (such as gym memberships), Total Activation should really hit home. I would be happy to send a copy of “Total Activation” at your request. Would you like to interview or review Mr. Chhoda’s book?

Thanks for your consideration!

Clark
